"Plan ahead" are the watch words of any successful move. Check out our homebuyers checklist to help make your move go without a hitch!

To make your move easier to organise we have produced a checklist of essential tasks to do before the move date. Moving house requires a lot of organisation, so if possible get started a good three months before you hope to move and stay ahead of the game!

Notify people about your move

You will need to have your mail redirected to your new address as well as notifying people about your move. Finalise a list of whom you need to contact (e.g. - DVLA, utility companies, dentist/doctor, local council tax office, bank etc) and ensure these have all been informed before you move.

Pack

Pack your belongings into the storage boxes provided and ensure all perishable items are appropriately stored. Make sure all boxes are labelled clearly. Try and use up food so that as little as possible has to be moved. Keep aside valuables to pack the day before the move.

Confirm removal arrangements

Confirm the move date with the removal company, or confirm your van hire.

Make arrangements for pets and children

If you have young children and pets, it might be an idea to arrange for them to be looked after on the day of the move.
