"Plan
ahead" are the watch words of any successful move. Check
out our homebuyers checklist to help make your move go without
a hitch!
To
make your move easier to organise we have produced a checklist
of essential tasks to do before the move date. Moving house
requires a lot of organisation, so if possible get started a
good three months before you hope to move and stay ahead of
the game!
Strip
beds
Strip
the beds and put linen in a separate box that is easily accessible
for use on the first night in your new home.
Collect
the keys

Empty
the house
The
removal van will arrive and begin loading your boxes. You need to
make sure you pack any essential belongings to take with you (survival
kit, valuables, etc).
Check
each room over
Once
the van has been loaded, check that each room is empty (except for
the items you have agreed to leave behind for the new owner).
Give
the removal driver contact details
Get
contact details for the removal driver so you can get in touch with
him easily. Make sure he has directions to your new home.
Turn
off the water
Turn
off the water before you leave.
Lock
up
Make
sure all the doors and windows are locked.
Check
over your new home
When
you arrive at your new home, turn the water on and check appliances
are working correctly. Also read all meters.
Check
for damaged boxes
As
the storage boxes are unloaded, check that none of them are obviously
damaged. If they are damaged, make a note of them.
